Welcome to the i9advantage video blog!

Today, let's look at some factors that might affect Form I-9 compliance processes in the upcoming new year.

For one, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services found that hackers had been using the ruse of a compliance-related information demand to steal employees' personal data.

Emails appearing to be from U-S-C-I-S demand businesses submit I-9 forms for verification, which the agency does not do. Any suspicious email should be immediately reported to the authorities.

USCIS also recently released updated guidance on E-Verify records disposal, which will be upcoming for any businesses with documents of this type that are ten or more years old. Companies can potentially use this opportunity to check on the general status of their E-Verify processes.
