DACA considerations for employers [Video]

Welcome to the i9advantage video blog!

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, remains in place. Employers must thus take its compliance ramifications into account.

Although President Trump didn't extend the program when it might have expired, multiple federal court rulings kept DACA going. Until all legal disputes are resolved, the "Dreamers" can continue seeking jobs and educational opportunities.

The Justice Department has approved more than 55,000 DACA applications in 2018 alone.

Employers can hire Dreamers qualified for their open positions, since they can be legally authorized to work in America.

That said, given the recently contentious nature of immigration policy, observing I-9 requirements and work authorization regulations will be more important than ever.
