Ready to write your next medical job posting? Do your best to avoid these four common words:

1. "Rockstar"

Using trending phrases such as "rockstar" or "guru" can alienate your job posting, plus, they can mean different things to different people. When job postings use "self-starter," it typically means that the person applying to the position should be able to manage his or her own daily tasks. In a medical setting, professionals will certainly need to make snap decisions without turning to a superior - but there's also a lot more collaboration.

Rather than putting this emphasis on the job seeker's ability to take hold of the reins, consider listing the type of education and experience required of the position. After all, medical job seekers have spent considerable time in school, which shows they are invested in their career.
